Heightfield

Hi, I made a mountain in Houdini, I tried to render it.
I know the attributes is not recognised yet, so I tried to export with COP2NET/SOP/ROP to get the height map and put it on a grid with a displacement.
the problem is the map is RAW with only White and black, nothing in between. Mantra support the raw heightmap but not octane.
What I'm missing?

Hi,

Well, if the map only has black and white values I can't figure how it could be used for the mountain displacement. If you want to share the scene, I could take a look at it.

Also, remember that you could render the Houdini mountain objects adding a Convert SOP to convert it to a mesh object.

Thanks,

Hi thanks for the answer.
It's a RAW height map, you can only see B/W but they have a tons of informations between them, Mantra remap it automatically but not octane.
Converting in mesh, is not the solution to get the debris or the flow and their masks.
I finally found the solution, to convert with HeightField output node.
I had to put the height on each color with auto remap, and duplicate the node for each map (height, debris, flow, mask)
