Text blurry behind 'specular' glass surface.

Hi,

Not sure how to solve this.

I have a model of a gage that has a glass cover.
There is text behind the glass cover.

However, the text is very blurry (see image)

What is going on here? My 'glass' cover is about .02 units thick. If I make it thicker, it doesn't solve it. I've had that issue as well.
It appears to be reflecting off the back side.

Any ides on how to solve this issue?

Thanks,

Jim

Yes, it seems a problem related to multiple reflections or something like that. If you want to send me the scene I could check it here to see why it has this behavior.

Thanks,

The problem is related to the glass material. You have a specular material with refraction and at the same time with an opacity value different from one. With this configuration, you get a double image from the objects behind the glass: one from the not refracted rays due to the opacity and another one from the refracted rays (which are deflected by the refractive index) due to the specular material.

You have two options, set the opacity to 1, or set the refraction index to 1 (to avoid the refracted rays deflection).

Thanks,
