Particle size

Hi,

I want to import particles from Houdini into OR Standalone. My problem is the size of the sphere primitive. It seems that I cannot set the correct particle size because in OR Standalone the sphere is really big. What attribute needs OR Standalone for the particle size?

Best wishes,
Thomas

Hi,

I am exporting a scene with particles from Houdini to the Standalone and it seems to work fine. In Houdini you can use the "pscale" attribute to set the particle radius, and this attribute is exported to Standalone without problems.

How are you setting the particle size in the scene?

Thanks,

Hi,

Sorry, did not say that I use alembic :?

I create an ABC file and want to open it in OR Standalone. Here, the spheres are really big :x

Best wishes,
Thomas

Ah, using an alembic file. Sorry, I don't know what alembic attribute is using Standalone to set the particle size. How are you exporting the .abc file? Perhaps if you export the alembic using the Octane plugin export to alembic function, this file could be exported with the sphere radius attribute used by standalone.

Thanks,

Hi,

Ah, thanks. I use a standard ROP Alembic Output node. I have to say that I am not an Houdini-Octane user. I only use Carrara-Octane. I use Houdini for creating effects only :?

I'll ask the question in the general customer forum. Perhaps someone can tell me what channel Octane is looking for to set the size

Thank you very much for your time and tips!

Best wishes,
Thomas
