Remember that SESI has said that from Houdini 16 and beyond the shop materials are deprecated. They are supported for backward compatibility, but the new Houdini material system is the /mat context.

Thanks,

Hey Juanjo, I was wondering when do you think we'll be able to start testing out the new Octane material builder?

I am going to release the final 3.06 build in few days. Once done I'll work on the Houdini 16 new /mat context support, I hope that just in time for the first Octane 3.1 builds ;)

Thanks,

My eye is actually bleeding already from being kept out...

2nd Release -coming shortly after intial release.(a week or two)
Large Preset Library with unique tiled textures. Scatched, Galvinzed, Brushed, Polished, Dirty --Metals and Plastics. Wax, Carpaints, Wood, Leather, Megascans Preset, Substance Designer Preset.
Complete Uber shader Training video covering the creation of complex presets such as realistic car paint.

Is this kind of shader possible in any other platforms? (Anyone have enough knowledge)

Agree with the sentiments of Sohara20 at start of 101 vid: a lot of wasted/redundant effort...

Any news about this ?
The 1.0 version looks to work in first place in houdini 16.0.663 but not really.
Most features looks broken with no effects.

Hey guys, did anyone test with 16.439 ? I found some bugs ( sliders not working between bases, surface globals don't affect overall shader )
Any updates would be greatly appreciated!

This shader looks dead since few month maybe years and Sohara looks away from the forum since at least one year. Too bad was a nice tool.
