Difference in prices for same amount of frames

Just a question.

I rendered the first 10 frames of my animation and it cost $10.45

I then rendered the next 10 frames and it cost $18.16

Is this difference normal?

I'm rendering 1920 x 877 at 2000 samples.

Thanks

Jim

Hi Jim,

This difference is normal. As you may already know, the amount of gpu work required to render an animation can change from frame to frame. In your case it sounds like your seconds batch of frames simply took less time to render than your first batch.

I would be happy to check on your job if you had more questions. Please pm me your job id or the email address you registered your account with.

Thanks Jim! I see now that I misunderstood your initial message.
You already sent me the information I need to look into things so I will start doing that now.
Hope to have an update for you soon.

Hi Jim!

I was having trouble pm'ing you so I emailed a more detailed response to you. The following is for anyone that is following your issue.

Our records are showing that your second job's frames are taking more than twice as long to render and almost 1.5 times longer to process. This is why you are seeing a discrepancy in prices.
This could mean that the scene can be further optimized or could just a simple consequence of your second job having more a complex animation.

If you would like a more detailed evaluation of your scene a member of our Render Support team can look over your scene to see which of the two it is. All they would need to know is which rendering software you are using.
