I applied for ORC access yesterday, I'm just wondering how/when I'll find out when access has been granted, and also if there's a comprehensive guide on using ORC with C4D plugin.

ORC and related OTOY cloud services is now purchasable to anyone on the Octane subscriptions page (finally!). ORC subs. are bundled with a full OVR floating Octane licence. That is important for future cloud services we intend to support (e.g. using Octane licence in Deadline or other remote endpoints uses have asked for), and also immediately useful as a second local license (including any free OVR bundled plug-ins like Nuke, AE, and others). Current ORC sub covers basic monthly infrastructure costs (storage and BW in particular), so we can offer $5 chunks of additional render credits maximally based on OB/time availability per day across all 1st party ORC regions (basically render farms that we can directly control and validate jobs at known cost with high uptime at scale and high availability).

We will soon be adding 3rd party render farms to ORC (already mentioned at GTC 17) that can match the above model. These can (and should) compete and bid for fulfillment of what is currently offered via 1st party OB/Hr render work in $5 credit chunks. This will ensure the cost of cloud rendering moves to lowest possible cost to users through competitive pricing, relative to the demand and reliability we have on today's system for stable high frequency workloads (e.g. millions of OB/day with 99.9% + uptime).
