hi,

sorry if this has been posted but just wanted to make sure:

will the new cloud service be available as max plugin?
if so, is there any info on the details?

best,

As someone who has never used Standalone, but uses the plugin for C4D daily, I'm also interested in this.

Can anyone explain how ORC will work for plugin users? Can I upload a .C4D scene for example?

Cheers.

Yes sure, ORC is the same in both plugin and Standalone.
Every v3 c4dOctane plugin version, from alpha to final release, has a specific menu for Cloud rendering, just like Standalone:
ORC_c4d_menu.jpg

After you have loaded your scene in Live View, from this menu, you can send the scene to ORC or update an existing scene. Go to ORC site to define which render target and in which format you want the final result and then start the job, you can render multiple render targets and have multiple results simultaneously, like in PNG8, PNG16, EXR multilayer and so on.
An email will inform you when the job is ready and where to see and download the results ;)

This is great. Pardon my lack of understanding but are we now at the point where I don't need CUDA gpu's and can use Octane on my laptop/trashcan?.. and still get the Live Viewer realtime rendering etc? Is that what the cloud allows? I haven't upgraded yet because I'm waiting on this feature.
thanks in advance.

Hey Beppe one more question, pardon if this is in the wrong thread. With Octane V3 am I now able to use the mograph multi-shader, proximal shader, etc.. all the native C4D and Mograph shaders? I'm almost ready to upgrade and if this is in the latest version I'd love to go forward.
thanks

Hi jevaone,
not yet, the mograph shader is partially supported (no render instances) but for a more robust translation of c4d internal shaders we have to wait a bit more ;)
