This build seems to have a big problem with meshes with changing point counts, IE fluid meshes. Geometry disappearing, very strange borked geometry, just a general mess. I'll put together a repro file if I have time, but do you test against that scenario internally before release?

This is popping up on every program start regardless of which option you select. Wouldn't be a problem but it stops the rest of the program loading whilst it waits for an answer.

20.5.370 - Finding that lights will switch themselves off when changing values during IPR. Need to restart render for them to come back.

Hiding light sources in volumes
As per the thread title. Are there any combination settings that will fully hide the light geometry in a fog volume? I want the light to light the cube and the floor, but not contribute to the volume, and more importantly not cast any kind of outline or shadow.

Displacements are by far Octanes most obvious weakness. The implementation of them is terrible, and lag behind even ancient renderers like Modos. Like already stated above, vertex displacements just aren't an option for 99% of people interested in speed and efficiency.

Not sure how to reproduce it but I can confirm the render timer bug. There's another potentially related bug whereby you kick off a new render and nothing updates in the viewport, but the image is clearly rendering in the background, as all of a sudden it will jump to a clean frame.

Ok so it sounds like it working with my 3.10 version on Windows 11 might be an anomaly? I wonder if something was left over from the previous 3.11 install. We had to switch to 3.10 for compatability with some other software. Moving to 3.11 fixes the Octane issue on the other machine, but ...

I'm currently experiencing this, but I'm not sure it's a python issue? 2023.1.3.4 in Houdini 20.5.278 py3.10 is working fine on one machine (Windows 11) and is doing what you're describing above on another machine (Windows 10). Tried using my original json package file and the new one that gets ...

Hi, thanks for the new versions for Octane Solaris. I'm doing tests and some important things to mention. When I use the F-stop in the Sampling tab it has a limitation, when you try to use values below 0.1 it doesn't register it, i.e. low values like 0.05, 0.01 doesn't make any change.

Can someone please sanity check for me that the Override output image parameter on the USD Render LOP is working?
