Re: Nvidia FERMI cards are coming... tomorrow !

... 3.5x faster for 480 than 280 - so maybe the Octane performance gain will make the proposition *passable* BTW I see various reviewers lack a benchmark for Cuda performance comparison. Radiance might like to send out Octane with a std test scene to see if it could be adopted- good for publicity ...

Re: Old GPUs vs New GPUs fight

The blender benchmark file would be pretty good. Uses a reflective sphere with some translucent cubes on a diffused surface. It's what I've been using to test other rendering apps, though I don't think I've tried it in octane yet. Will do tonight.

Re: Old GPUs vs New GPUs fight

... to grass, bubble glass, wood and grain, other complexities in texture surfaces. Also the size of textures and resolution output will alter the benchmark. I'm hoping that octane will be able to support as many gpu's as the motherboard can handle. As this will save soooooo much time and the end ...

Re: My First Shot

ank any chance you can add that model for all of us to benchmark (if you know the perspective view angle with x y z perspective coords and degree I can try it out on a gtx 285 2gb and compare the benchmark results with your own.

lets see how 240 cores handle it ;0)

Thanks

Re: Questions

Birukas wrote:ok, i'll try, but when i import obj, all materials are glossy (3dsmax export), and i can't change them and save a scene in Octane

give us some time to come up with a benchmark scene, we'll add one in the next demo version.

So, what about benchmark? It would be wonderful if we will have 1 or 2 scenes (studio and interior) to download and benchmark our gpus
