If this gives you additional opportunities without prejudice to the purpose of the product and customers, even in the long therm, it's good for all of us.

I hope especially this will help Octane to reach a level even more better.

bye

Refractive Software, I don't think I will change my ways; although you haven't been able to document OR properly, and you haven't delivered a single update in time, I can't help but coming back here and help the newer people not feel too fustrated. You don't have credibility to me, whatever you say now may, and probably will, be subject to change.

edit: you should really double check your vocabulary. Reading things like "some of you may be jealous I'm making that paper", is far from expected from this company's CEO. You are talking to your +3.5k costumers here...

Any chance for a roadmap that will outline the short & mid-term goals toward final 1.0 and subsequent updates? What can we expect and (generally of course) when can we expect it?

The priorities probably changed several times, since the feature list on the main site was last updated.

Radiance said before that he thought it was crazy ("miss a goldmine" was the exact phrase) that no one picked up C4D and wanted to develop this plug-in. As I understand it the developer for that plug-in must apply for SDK license from RF. RF doesnt search for plug-in developer themselves, so the interest must come from someone that is interested to spend time and devotion to do this link. I hope I got the situation right :O

Thanks for the clarity radiance.

Tungee, I think Octane is already working in offline mode. Only the live db is not available offline.

If you knew the number of software acquired by Autodesk just to see their development slowing down, or even to make them disappear from the market (almost all Realviz suite and others...), not to mention the fact that they kill the concurrency by buying all their competitors (3ds, maya, xsi) ... long live the giga Autodesk Inc...

I for one am still very much hoping for continued support for Blender users and progress towards an official plugin. I'm sure there is demand and a way around licensing problems. And maybe even a way to fund this independently?

The OTOY LightStage technology sound like it would be an interesting add-on in octane, congratulations on the sale.

Additional camera animation features (buttons or scripts) (dolly, pan...) would really push a need for cloud rendering :)
