numbering is very strange on octane side. 1=all objects, you should set your layered objects as 2,3,4, etc..

Hi eyeonestudio and guys,
please see this scene. I attached three different layer set to seperate these objects: train, rail and trees which are numbered as 2,3,4. You can see and render one set on one render session for getting shadows and reflections. Also it can produce masks for three sets on same session.Check animation render output.

(X) Render Setting : Method : Send All Scene Data : Render Layer + Layer Mask --> Not Working
(O) Render Setting : Method : Resend only updated objects : Render Layer + Layer Mask ---> Working



And Other Problem is "Render Instance" With "Render Layer"
(Check Your Scene. All Tree is ID3. But Some Tree is gone)

For first sentence, read this message: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=44446

I explained the structure. You should know that plugin how works. What happens in background...
We need a scatter node for motion blur, instancing, transforms, partial updates, texture projections, etc... This can be provided by object tag.
Also need a object layermap for visibility, layerid, etc... This is also another job of object tag.

scatter and layermap nodes are clue on Octane side. First render method does not support neither of them. Second method works as in Live viewer.
So why i'm keeping first method here? It's good for render speed and camera animations on static scenes.

Regarding to render instances, you're right. I forget to add layerid's for instances. I'll fix it on next version. Thanks

Some of the materials downloaded from the LiveDB are still not being built correctly. For example I just tried to load the 'Translucent Blue Silicone' material and it just shows up as two clear spec files in a mix material. Another material is the 'Scratched edges metal red' material just doesn't seam right.

Texture emission "Surface Brightness" and "Cast Illumination" not seem to work. Is there an example scene I can try?

They both function as expected. These are one-click features, not sure you need an example scenen for that. There are a lot of questions here that are already answered in the linked standalone threads. Take some time to check them out first, make your life easier.

Thank you for your answer. I've tested yesterday on a couple of different scenes and the toggles were not doing anything. Today they work and I think it's because yesterday I didn't restart the computer after I've installed the new version.

These are quick buttons that allow you to preview enabled render passes (Octane Settings). This helps evaluate the contribution of separate layers - useful when you are preparing your scene for export and eventual comppositing in Ae or PS. Video tutorial covering the whole multipass system + compositing in both Ae and PS will be out as soon as a few glitches are taken care of.
