OctaneRender® for ArchiCAD beta - build 1.16a [OBSOLETE]

This is the recommended thread for downloading, and posting any questions, suggestions or support queries for OctaneRender for ArchiCAD, build 1.16a (TEST RELEASE). This version is compiled against Octane 1.16, so see the requirements for that build regarding compatibility with your video card.

If you have a support issue, pls provide the following information:
- Operating System (ie. Win XP, Vista, 7, 8)
- 32 or 64 bit
- Amount of RAM
- Graphics Card(s) - model (ie. GTX 580, 3GB)
- Nvidia driver version
- ArchiCAD version (ArchiCAD -> Help -> License Information -> Version and Build Number
- OctaneRender for ArchiCAD version (ie. 1.02a)
- In the unlikely event of a crash, pls provide the dump report from the C:\Users\[username]\Graphisoft\BugReporting-[version] folder (on Win 7). Either post or email (to "paul at physicalc-consulting.com") the "ArchiCAD-XXXXXX-FATAL.RPT" file from this folder.

Change Log from release 1.13c
- Compiled against Octane 1.16
- Changed activation process to provide more information when activation fails
- "transmission" and "emission" pins are now "[not connected]" by default. You can attach the appropriate node by changing the node type as per normal. If needed, choose the "disconnect" node type to delete a previously created connected node.
- Material selection is now working in the Material tab when not in a 3d window
- Fixed issue where GDL materials were not editable unless you restarted the plugin after adding a new Object to the scene
- You can now scatter (instance) a geometry proxy. Set the CSV in the proxy info dialog. The CSV will be a set of 12 numbers per line, representing the Octane transform (see Otoy forums for details). You CANNOT scatter an ArchiCAD element - only geometry proxies. At this stage the plugin will not generate transform CSV files, but that will be implemented in a future version of the plugin.
- Adding proxies, instances or changing any proxy info will immediately be reflected in the Octane Viewport (if the Viewport is open)
- NOTE: Proxy info saved with scenes with previous version of the plugin will not load in the new plugin. The scene will still load fine.
- REMINDER: Proxy/Instance scenes will only render in the photorenderer if you have the scene also open in the Viewport. If the Viewport is closed, the photorenderer will render the scene ignoring the proxies and instances.
- Proxy materials are now unique for each OBJ file. If an OBJ is once more than once in a scene, the materials will be shared for that OBJ.
- NOTE: At this stage the scale limits for proxies at 1-10000% (whole numbers). The logic behind that is that any OBJ not in the range can be scaled in another app first. But if this is not good enough, pls let me know.

Also....
1) I will endevour to produce a Mac version in the next few weeks
2) Once AC17 is available (2 days time) I will compile a version of the plugin for that version of AC. Support for AC14 will be discontinued at that time.

A couple of transform files you can try....

100 transforms is just displacement transformations - no rotation or scaling
1000 transforms has some scale and rotation variation in addition to the displacement randomness

Hi when I select a "line" popup this windows only with "lines"...

I am in a loop not being able to close the window.
I just noticed I was using the standalone 1.15; I'll download the 1.16 and report if I'll still this loop.

This was due using OR 1.15; I installed 1.16 ans I could close the window

And about the scaling: digits would be nice for two reasons:
1) I would like to be able and finetune between the numbers:
i.e. I need to finetune an outscaled OBJ to 1.875%
2) And secondly this gives the opportunity to smallscale objects to even smaller, like 0.01%
i.e. I like to make a citymaquette showed on a table ans I need to scale it very small to 0.00001% or something

I started to test with csv and I bumped into the limit of 10000 transforms.
i.e. a terrain with 100x100 trees is 10000.
Can the limit be bigger?

I used your csv files to see how the transforming works.. and it works Super!
This is mayor-wow-step in the plugin again; therefor big compliments for your work again

Now back to testing:
When having the Geometry Proxy Details open it would be nice if it changes to the selected object when selecting another in Archicad. If not possible, maybe kind of a warning.
Otherwise it can be confusing when selecting another Archicad element, bu
changing another proxy, because I forgot to close the Geometry Proxy Details first.

I shouldn't matter which version of OctaneRender Standalone you have installed. This one is strange....

Yes, that would be nice. At the moment there are issues that cause this to be difficult to implement - but I will add it to the "long-term" list.

I will make the limit 100,000.

I will need to make the plugin automatically shutdown the Proxy window if you select another object, because you are right - it becomes very confusing.

Hi Paul,
The new download for AC16 says still 1.16a2?
I am not sure why I am thinking of millions of what,
but is there a reason why not make the transform unlimited or increased to 1.000.001?
I guess you have to set a limit for technical reason?
