Raised a bug with DAZ over some (not all) Dynamic Clothing items causing Daz Studio to crash when they are loaded.
A bit of investigation showed this ONLY happened with OcDS active, so I have asked them to close the bug report.

Hi. I have only just found out about the problems with 1.2.120.3430 not loading the octane materials from Daz scenes saved with the previous version. I have around a year and a half of work saved with the previous plug in. 280 scenes. A lot of it is Daz content but I built a fair bit in Hexagon and made Octane materials - I also set up a lot of lights using blackbody. I updated only recently (I updated Daz, Octane itself and the plug-in) - everything seems so much better so well done there. However, I have my 280 scenes that won't load the octane material settings I used. How do I fix this? There seems to be talk of a version 1.5 that will fix it. Is this happeneing? The only other thing I can think of is to roll back to my previous plug-in version - which I believe was 2313. I need to access all the embedded data in those 280 scenes so that they render properly with the original octane material settings.

Thanks in advance

I recently switched to a new pc system: Asus Z170 Pro gaming mobo, Intel skylake I5 6600k processor, 16GB DDR4 ram and a Evga GTX980 TI 6GB graphics card, running on 64bit Windows10. With the newly installed DazStudio 4.8 I have the following issues:

Octane Render does connect to Octane Live and the activation manager reports the plug-in is activated. The system tab however shows no activation and no connection.
The system tab reports it does not recognize the graphics card, although it is listed under GPU configuration and I can check it. Upon DS restart it will be unchecked again.
The viewport will open, but Octane does not render.
Octane Standalone is activated and working properly and both licenses show as activated in my User Account.

Would appreciate some help with this.

Yesterday OTOY was doing maintenance on their OctaneLive servers so the reason why it did not connect in the system tab was caused by this (today it is already working fine).

If you are really using Octane plugin for DAZ version 1.2 then the GTX980 is NOT supported by this version of the plugin and you will need to upgrade to the version 2 of the DAZ Octane Plugin in order to use it with GTX980.

That is also the reason why you can see the GTX980 in the Octane standalone, but not in the version 1.2 of the Octane plugin for DAZ Studio.

I did have a similar problem when I upgraded from GTX780 Ti to Titan X.

Thank you for saving my weekend. I downloaded from the account, which still has 1.2 as the last version. I'm up and running now with 2. :)

OctaneRender for DazStudio versions prior to Octane 2 are not longer supported. So I am "unstickying" this thread.

Thanks
