Hello!
I have written very simple replicator data exporting script for Modo, that you can apply.

What you need to do:
1) make replicator or instances in Modo
2) in upper menu find Item>Replicator(at bottom)>Freeze replicator
3) select items, data from which you want to take
4) in upper menu System>Run Script or Shift+F5 , then select a script file
5) it will ask you to save to text
6) In Octane for Scatter select text file with data

You can make grass made out of replicator, but not out of hair.

create material> add surface generator layer to it>
> create replicator of a grass mesh with paint source of surface generator > freeze and select instances, then run script and save for octane use

You may change mesh to low density one before making it freeze , sow it cause no troubles to modo viewport.

I assume it will be exported as pure geometry, so... will it weight like hell?

I'd love to try this but the link says:

Loaded on fist post. Strange, i thought archives not allowed to attach.

It uses a single mesh and text file for multiplication.

Thanks enverholancev. It seems to work great!

I think you probably need some instructions on how to use the text file once it's done

1. In modo, you need to export the the item that is instanced as an obj
2. In octane, add a scatter node and plug the object into its input and load the text file into the node

Actually it doesnt seem to export rotations correctly (position and scale work fine). If you compare the 2 attached images, all the positions are correct, but the rotations are not

I tried selecting items in different orders and using different action centers but the octane render was always the same.

Anyway, I'm not sure this really matters too much.
