Hi all,

This is a maintenance update of OctaneRender 2.1x.

Changes since version 2.11.1:
  • Improved node inspector by providing a compact view of uncollapsed node pins. Also changed the default expansion logic to reduce the clutter.
  • Added pin descriptions as tooltips.
  • Fixed broken layout after a pane got minimized and Octane was closed.
  • Fixed node stack groups containing unconnected pins.
  • Enabled PMC for Maxwell 2 GPUs.
  • Fixed performance regression in PMC kernel introduced with version 2.11.
  • Fixed/improved displacement mapping with negative offsets.
  • Fixed self-shadowing of objects with matte material.
  • Fixed post-processing glare.
  • Removed "tonemapped EXR" option from OpenEXR save dialog.
  • Making sure that at least one render pass is viewed and if the currently viewed pass gets disabled, fall back to the main beauty pass.
  • Fixed rendering of object ID / material ID passes at the same time.
  • Switched to a newer version of the network library used for network rendering fixing low transfer rates on some Win7 computers.
  • Fixed missing initialization of Winsock library which may cause net render daemon discovery or the daemons to fail.
  • Fixed a crash in Octane if a daemon gets enabled on the same computer as the master.
  • Added option "logarithmic" to octane.scriptgraph.setInputLinkers().
  • Added render pass support in Lua:
    • octane.render.getAllRenderPassIds()
    • octane.render.getAllRenderPassesStatistics()
    • octane.render.saveRenderPassesMultiExr()
    • octane.render.setDisplayRenderPassId()
  • Added batch render script.
  • Reduced error messages in net render daemon.
  • Fixed crash when an internal script is run while no user scripts are provided (or the user script directory is invalid).
  • Fixed parsing of Lua script headers.
  • Fixed internal Lua scripts.
We fixed a few more issues introduced with 2.12 and are releasing another small update:
  • Fixed material and texture preview.
  • Fixed incorrect weighting of environment and light shadows on the matte material.
  • Fixed startup issues on Windows XP.
  • Fixed startup issues on Mac OSX.
  • Daemon search sub-net is now loaded correctly from the preferences.
  • Connections of an external render passes node to a render target node are now correctly loaded from .ocs files.

Info Passes are still don't have neither Motion Blur nor DoF. Is this behavior is normal?

You need to check distributed ray tracing in the render passes node, it was already there in the previous release.

Thank you for this update! I can see there was an improvement in the displacement, unfortunately the problem is not completely gone, although is much better than before. ;)

I've noticed that if I apply one level of Subdivision, the black lines become almost invisible, so definitely an improvement! 8-)

Is it possible to add a Search field to the API Browser?
And it would be really great if there was an option to have a kind of "extended hints" for elements with theirs "API paths" (like in Blender for example).
