Hi
Do not cast shadow works well, but not with white environment light.
Can someone explain me why ?
here some images , left sphere cast shadow, right sphere doesn't cast shadow.
Sun: ok
Octane light : ok
Ies light : ok

Hi
Not sure why it does not work but it may be due to the fact there is no distinctly set direct light source such as sun or light bulb where you have a direct shadow from this source. For you see is mainly contact shadowing between surfaces. It could be a bug though.
For now you can try a small 32bit single color texture as the environment map and see if this works with the ability to turn shadows off.
Hope this helps.

Hi, Please could you post a screen shot of nodes tree showing how to use this feature ?
I don't understand how to use the object layer node and input output nodes, and can't find any clue in the forum/tutorials...
Thanks in advance.
Philippe.

I don't really know how to do this in standalone. I use 3dsmax plugins.ROUBAL wrote:Hi, Please could you post a screen shot of nodes tree showing how to use this feature ?

The key is in the picture attached
Thank you very much Bicket !
Now I understand how Object layers work (Per material on multiple material objects). I still don't know what are input and output nodes for, but it doesn't sound like something I currently need...
It appears that the Object Layer Map works only if applied immediately after an obj node. It can be connected after a placement node, but doesn't work.

I just understand my mistake.
The darkest part is the true color of the material and the lightest part is du to light bounce.
