One of my faulty GTX 580 3GB was replaced with GTX 680 4GB http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.as ... P4-2686-KR. The card is very silent. During rendering it works under 45% of fan max speed which makes this card inaudible.

I'm attaching scores compared to GTX 580 3GB on Octane 3.03 and nvidia 306.23 driver, cuda 5.0.

thanks for this =) really useful - actually looking forward to get 680 'cos I'm getting out of patience for new gk110 unit..(an actually in doubt wheather we even see one on GTX line as 680/690 still holds well in gaming and I'm honestly doubt that NVidia would like to eat it's profits anytime soon..=)
curious, is there any boost from 680 oc? haven't read anything yet 'bout it. the Temps are really promissing (are You looking to put this under WC block? =)

yes, I just ordered EK waterblock for GTX 680 and within a week or two I pass some OC results and temps.

that would be really nice =) looking forward for that!
Here are my preliminary tests for watercooled gtx 680 4gb.
Temps: in idle 24C, render: 35C @ stock, 39C - overclocked.
Overclocked in afterburner:
voltage set to max 1.175V
power limit set to max: 138% - octane uses only 75% at overclocked settings. Why?
core clock: 1228mhz (+150mhz)
memory clock: 3506mhx (+500mhz)
And scores are attached. The only strange results I obtained are in Hallway scene.
These results come from RC1 updated version (not 3.03).

thanks for all this info =)
performanse and thermals looking really promissing!
at the very moment trying to comeUp with parts list of parts for completely pasive
- dead silent rig without a fan =) here 3770k & 680 is looking a great deal for that =)
P.S. what exactly GPU You're using. I was looking to EVGA, but the only reference design card with 4GB that they have is the One withou FTW? or You managed to put waterblock on other model? =)

wait for K20 benchmarks....

quad Titan Kepler 6GB + quad Titan X Pascal 12GB + quad GTX1080 8GB + dual GTX1080Ti 11GB
GPU is EVGA GTX 680 with backplate
http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.as ... P4-2686-KR
and for this model there is available EK waterblock
http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/step ... u_gpus=759
I bought this one:
http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/uplo ... _20008.jpg
EVGA backplate is compatible with this block but I had to find 7 longer screws to mount it.
If you want to go with another version of GTX 680 4GB like FTW always use configurator
http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/
EK redesigned sli connectors for waterblocks (personally I don't like it) . So also remember about it.
If you want your computer to be dead silent pay attention to PSU. I have enermax. Silent but under medium load 500W it is audible. There is one PSU that is passive up to 600W, above it air-cooled. I'll find some info if you are interested. Forgot the name of it right now.
One GTX 680 during rendering takes 258W (included whole system, monitor). Two of them would be about 400W-420W I hope.

Thank you very much for the results. They are slightly confusing, but interesting nontheless. Could you redo the tests with RC2 (when it's out)? That would be great.smicha wrote:Here are my preliminary tests for watercooled gtx 680 4gb.
