OctaneRender™ for Blender plugin. Windows x64 version.

The bundle consists from two parts:
1. OctaneRender™ Server
2. Blender - OctaneRender™ edition.

The first part (server) should be run on the same computer as the second one. To stop the server - just right-click its icon in the tray.
After the server is run - you can start rendering (or open a rendered view) from inside Blender. Before the very first rendering you should fill in the server address (only 127.0.0.1 at the time), login and password (your license key info) to activate the server. After the first rendering the server will remember this activation info, and you will not need to enter it again.

You should use only OctaneRender materials inside Blender scenes - the plugin knows nothing about Blender specific materials and textures (about any Blender nodes, generally speaking).

FIXES AND NEW FEATURES SINCE LAST RELEASE
  • New 1.52 engine.
  • Last Blender 2.70 trunk.
  • Bug fixes...

After starting OctaneServer it will take some time before the LiveDB tree and LiveDB material previews will be available from Blender - as OctaneServer caches the LiveDB data from remote server right after starting. But only the materials groups tree will be re-cached every time after server start, LiveDB material preview images will be cached only once - so only the very first OctaneServer start will need some more time before LiveDB tree will be available in Blender.

It is 05:42 in the morning and I have not yet gone to bed, so I can't test this release right now. The only thing that I can say is that Blender can't be launched because of missing DLLs : avcodec-53.dll and avutil-51.dll. The provided 55 and 52 seem not compatible. I have copied the dll files from the official versions and Blender starts normally.

By the way, current official release is 2.70a and shows 2.70a in the splash window.

Release tests when I will have slept a bit...

Blender's git repository is the absolute mess. It does not have any tags since 2.70-rc, and it does not have deps-libraries in it - they are only in their svn, and it seems that they do not match.:)
Anyway, it seems that I've finally catched the reason of crashes (just a few minutes ago) - so anyway will release the next version tomorrow, and fix these avcodec lib issues too...)

06:01...I am not yet in my bed, and have done a quick test : worse than ever : the server crashes immediately when I hit Animation or render or even select render mode in the viewport. Render viewport at least worked in the previous release... :(

Really sorry for bad news...

I have to sleep few hours now !

Yes, I know now, that it may crash in some cases... But on my machine I was forced it to render few days before I finally catched one crash just minutes ago...;)
Will be fixed in next version tomorrow...
