The Linux version of OctaneRender™ for Blender plugin, 64-bit.

Image

The bundle consists from two parts:
1. OctaneRender™ Server
2. Blender - OctaneRender™ edition.

The first part (server) should be run on the same computer as the second one..
After the server is run - you can start rendering (or open a rendered view) from inside Blender. Before the very first rendering you should fill in the server address (only 127.0.0.1 at the time), login and password (your license key info) to activate the server. After the first rendering the server will remember this activation info, and you will not need to enter it again.

You should use only OctaneRender materials inside Blender scenes - the plugin knows nothing about Blender specific materials and textures (about any Blender nodes, generally speaking).

FIXES AND NEW FEATURES SINCE LAST RELEASE
  • Added "Subframe Motion Blur" feature. So far the "Movable proxy" objects feature is not fully implemented, so this motion blur will work not with the full possible speed. After "Movable proxy" feature will be implemented in next versions - this motion blur feature will become a lot faster...
  • Added "Interpolated vertex normals" info-channel type.
  • Minor improvements and bug fixes...

This version is working well for me, although OctaneServer still crashes on me with the same error as before. I haven't had the same situation that happened before where OctaneServer didn't crash but it also wouldn't update the image as it was rendering until max samples was hit. I left that one running for more than a day and it didn't crash, don't know if that helps or not. Usually OctaneServer will crash on me from between a half an hour to 2 hours of use. There doesn't appear to be a single cause as I have had it crash while using Blender, or just leaving it running.
