My last render. Thanks to all the help in these forums I finally made something I like :)
https://twitter.com/vmedium/status/539241033964347392

1) In doing this amazing tutorial I've realized that some things don't seem to be working the same in windows and osx. (tut link: https://vimeo.com/108846254 ) For instance ctrl+middle click to set the focal point, and the white balance in the render settings in the tutorial has a 'pick color from viewer' button that doesn't exist in OSX

2) I have a K5000 in my mac pro desktop right now. I would love to add another card (or more). Is anyone running multiple cards in OSX? and what would a recommended second card be?

Thanks!

2) Decided to go with a GeForce GTX 680 for an additional card for Octane.

This is becoming problematic.

1) They don't use the same driver, still haven't got it running so I dont know if this will be a problem yet.

2) The 680 requires more power than I have available in the PCIe area. (It has two 6-pins wanting a total of 75W from the board and 2 6 pins for another 150W for 225 Total), this means that the K5000 has no power. So I'm going to try it with a Y-Splitter and see how that goes.

From what I know the major issue with octane on Mac (or hackintosh) is that you can only have 3 GTX runing on OSX... I am runing 2 gtx 780ti, and I wonder if I will go on windows or try to make network rendering...

Hi.

OSX supports Several graphic cards. I have 5 (4 gtx 780 and a gtx 580) using a pci extension box. The only pb is with os x 10.9.2 and later. My mac pro Run on 10.9 and it Works very fine.
Mac pro 2,26 - 8 cores - OS 10.9 - 4 x gtx 780, 1 x gtx 580 - netstor PCI extension
C4D 15 - octane for c4d 2.12.1
