Hi again,
I'm putting updated plugin (0.4.2) for testing. Please only use for previewing purposes, still in development.
This is development version, has not finished tools. But some features will be nice for people.

To install you must remove all data and put new stuff.



C4D Octane R14:

changes since Beta 0.3.4 -> Beta 0.4.2

- search unfound texture in project path, tex path
- mat type changed to specular, transmission/relection set to 1.0, roughness set 0.0
- Save project with assets command implementation (still crashing due sdk problem)
- bitmap sequence support
- material picker(still has memory problem)
- livedb dialog (missing parts, under heavy development)
- Animation rendering bug resolved
- Some tweaks, minor improvements...
- C4D shaders to texture support, not yet working in animation rendering
- Standart Render multipasses can work together octane render output, it's in development

Hi again i have deleted the files in my c4d root folder and in the plugins folder but it still shows version 0.3.4, what am i doing wrong?

Hi aoktar!
Great that you are keeping us in the loop with early betas! :) Great work.

I've done some quick testing:
-C4D still crashes on startup when you have the plugin in the startup layout (same error as before, failed to find CUDA device etc).. Detach from startup layout and it works.
-LiveDB crashes on download material (but i guess you are working on this :) ..(Will you improve the GUI also? A thumb list would be nice :)
-Material picker doesnt really work yet :)
-The "low priority" option does not seem to work.

but all in all..quite nice :) I love Octane and your plugin is really great!

Hi aoktar,

thanks for sharing the new beta! But it doesn't work for me :? .
I removed the old plugin and the files in the main maxon root.
The new plugin doesn't exist when i start cinema 4D. No errors - its not there....but i installed it correct.
It is possible that this update only for R14 user? I use R13?

looking good, is coming along :P

I`ll update my finds here, as I see them:

-Paint materials seems to be working, "Misc" however is crashing all the time when downloading, also walls, bricks, stones, pavement, tiles, I feel they should have their own subfolder :)

- if you have c4d on a SSD system, the plugin crashes cinema 4d at startup

i have to say this is a preview release. As you said still has some problems. After feedbacks, i'll fix it and release real one.
Octane Sdk updated and has some important changes. So plugin need some seriously updates. For this reason, i wish to share last version.
I hope next release will contain a MACOS version.

To install be sure remove all octane files in c4d root folder and plugin folder.

Hi,

works well for me!

Live Materials I can download without crashing (tried only a few so far)
Color Picker is also working here.

Its getting better and better ....

I forgot:

I still have massive problems with "texture Environment"

As soon as I activate "Image sampling" all materials are getting white and totally overbright.
The HDRI Image/Background has the correct lightning. If I drop down the power to "0.01" materials are
right, but HDRI gets black. ???

And one question: is it possible to stack materials?
F.e a plane with a basic diffuse mat an on top a material with an alpha mapped texture.
Does not seem to work or I'm doing something wrong.
