finally a new working version of the octane-scatter xpresso completely rewritten by marcus.
basically he has written a coffee-node that solves all the last issues, no more rotation order or animation to set up :)
as before there are two nulls objects:
the "cloner2scatter" it's very easy to use, simply drag a mograph object inside the proper field in the user-data section of the attribute editor caller " cloner", the total numer of copies is displayed in the field just below, and magically in the "scatter" field is displayed all the matrices of the clones ready to be copied inside the octane scatter node.
super easy :D

the "select2scatter" it's a bit different, basically it display the 12 digit matrix of the first selected object in the scene, so there are two ways of using it, you can duplicate and lock his attribute window, select the desired object and copy the 12digit and paste it in the octane scatter node or in the "store matrix" field just below. another way is to drag his "scatter" field in the viewport and copy the 12digit for here.

so now we have the possibility to easy transfer position, scale and rotatio of all the instances of both mograph and simple instance from inside c4d to octane, and we can activate the "render instance" option for better viewport navigation and ram consumption :)
thanks again marcus aka abstrax :D

yes ,there is already a second test version of octane with scatter support:
viewtopic.php?f=33&t=23359

basically this is a test version waiting for a new octane scene format without the obj limitation. it's possible to load several obj toghether, it's possible to move several copies of an object via "placement" or "scatter" node. the placement is useful for moving scaling and rotating around single objects but it's a bit tedious since you must use a single node for translatin, another one for rotation and so on. the scatter node is extremely useful for large numbers of copies of the same object, you need to convert the global matrix of each clone into a 12 digit string. this is what the xpresso does, my version was a bit tricky and uncomfortable but now with the new marcus version all is extremely easy and i prefer to use always the scatter node instead of the placement one ;)

Ah ok, I understand better. I can't try it for the moment because this test version of Octane need a permanent internet connexion... wich I don't have.
But as soon as Octane 3 release, I try it !

there are sometimes some authentication problems with the new versions, in general, if i have troubles, i start the 259 first and then the 301 and works ;)

Hello Bepeg4d,
Can you please post a screencap of the two nodes configuration in Octane.
I'm a little bit confused..
Thank you.
