Hi all,

This is a small maintenance update for Standalone and SDK fixing a few more problems. In case you are wondering: We are mostly working on new stuff and hope to get a new release candidate out soon.

Changes since version 2.05.2:
  • Emitter power can now be set higher than 1000000.
  • Improved geometry compilation when animated and not animated triangles are used in the same mesh. For those cases memory consumption should be reduced and render speed increased.
  • Fixed crash in node inspector, when camera input pins get enabled in the Alembic import preferences.
  • Progress bar is now always animated.

I think they're in progress — it isn't so simple as it sounds. The technology itself is quite tricky, so, I think, it'll be fixed in 2-3 months at least... I am being waiting too with my 3D army general ))

This release doesn't work on my Maveriks OSX machine, it doesn't find the GPUs ... anybody else?

Hi, Colapse all nodes does not work in this release.
GI clamp default 1000000 make not really sense to me, nor exponential setting.
Not really a difference between 50 and 500 or 50000.
It is not included in 2.0 Manual.

Thanks, mib

hi juanjio,
no issue here with 2.06 and Maverick 10.9.4
have you installed something else recently?

Weird, nope, this is my developer machine that I use only for compile the plugins. Octane 2.00 works fine, but neither 2.05 or 2.06 works.

EDIT: I have a GTX670 GPU, while driver says in the NVIDIA page that only GTX680 is supported. Anybody else have a GTX670 with the last 334.01 drivers?

With me the solution was go to preference and check the box with GPU device. For some reason it was unchecked.

Amazing ... now it works, and I didn't touch nothing and no reboot ... weird. Ok. I hope to don't have this problem again ;)

14 July I mailed in a par of boots that would explode when subd'ing it. Same OBJ will now crash Octane with SubD.
